Cristiano Ronaldo used his influence to help Al-Nassr get a ‘blockbuster’ contract.
Specifically, recently, Al-Nassr announced on his Twitter page that they have officially signed a shirt sponsorship contract with Nike. The American sports giant will replace Duneus to become the shirt manufacturer for the Saudi team from the 2023/24 season.
In fact, this is the 3rd time that Nike sponsors Al-Nassr. The Saudi Pro League runner-up has partnered with Nike for the first time from 1997 to 2001 and the second period from 2010 to 2012. These are two not-so-successful periods in the team’s history. making the American giant do not want to continue to extend the contract.
Therefore, Nike’s acceptance of returning to cooperate with Al-Nassr is no different from a “blockbuster” contract with this team. And the reason everyone knows, is because the Saudi team owns Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar has been with Nike since 2003, when he was still just a promising young player in the shirt of Sporting Lisbon. The American sports brand actually provided the five-time Ballon d’Or winner with 30 pairs of Mercurial Superfly boots until 2016.

This contract between Al-Nassr and Nike has shown the great influence of Ronaldo. It is the brand of CR7 that is the biggest reason why this big man in the sports industry returns to cooperate with the runner-up of the Saudi Pro League. By signing a lifetime contract with Nike, the Portuguese superstar can help make this partnership a lasting one.
The first shirt that Nike designed for Al-Nassr will appear in this team’s pre-season friendlies. Their first match will take place on Monday, July 17 in the Algarve against Celta de Vigo, followed by a match against Portuguese champions Benfica just three days later. Next is a tour in Japan, where they will meet PSG on July 25 and face Champions League runners-up, Inter Milan on July 27.
In addition to collaborating with Nike, Al-Nassr is also rushing to strengthen its forces for the new season. After being unable to successfully recruit Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea, this team is targeting another Premier League star, David de Gea. The Spanish goalkeeper is currently a free agent after his contract with Man United expired.
