Cristiano Ronaldo affirmed that he creates attraction for Saudi Arabian football and will not return to Europe to play football.
“The Saudi Arabian League is better than the US. 100% like that. That’s reality ,” Daily Mail quoted Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar currently plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Arabian National Championship. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi has just joined Inter Miami in the US.
The 38-year-old striker believes that he is an important factor in increasing the attraction of the Saudi Arabian tournament. Clubs in the West Asian country continuously recruit stars from Europe such as Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante. Some players at the peak of their careers also moved to Saudi Arabia.
“Within a year, there will be many top players coming to Saudi Arabia. This tournament will surpass Turkey and the Netherlands. I thought this would take a whole year, but it’s only 6 months.
I know it will happen. When I arrived in Italy, the league seemed to collapse. Cristiano arrived and created attraction. I know it will be. I opened the way to the Saudi Arabian tournament and now all the other players are coming here ,” said the Portuguese superstar.
Ronaldo also confirmed that he will not return to play in European national championships. He has just played for Al Nassr for half a season and has not won any title with the Saudi Arabian team. However, Ronaldo still wants to conquer the challenge here.
“I can 100% confirm that I will not return to play for a European club. I will not return to Europe. That door is completely closed.
I am 38 years old. European football is of very high quality. The only league that surpasses them all is the Premier League. The Spanish league does not have that quality. I think the German tournament has also declined a lot. I will definitely not return to Europe. I want to play football in Saudi Arabia,” Ronaldo said.
