March 6, 2024 marks the 122nd anniversary of Real Madrid club’s founding. Like many other stars and former players, Cristiano Ronaldo sent congratulations on his personal page.
He also revived memories of defeating Liverpool in the Champions League.
The Portuguese superstar spent 9 seasons with Los Blancos from 2009 to 2018. He came to Madrid after parting ways with Manchester United and left to join Juventus.
During that time, CR7 won four Champions League titles, including a victory highlighted by Gareth Bale and a mistake by goalkeeper Loris Karius in 2018.
In that match, Ronaldo did not score. Karim Benzema opened the scoring, Sadio Mane equalized, before Bale scored twice – including a bicycle kick – and Real Madrid won 3-1 against Liverpool.
Ronaldo chose a photo from that night and wrote a congratulatory message on page X: “Congratulations on 122 years of history, Madrid family! Go Madrid!”.
That was also Ronaldo’s 5th Champions League championship (1 crowned with Manchester United in 2008).
After 9 years with Los Blancos, Ronaldo scored a total of 450 goals.
The 39-year-old superstar is currently playing for Al-Nassr club in Saudi Arabia and still maintains very good scoring form.

Real Madrid was founded in 1902 and lost its first match 1-3 to Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Copa de la Coronacion, the predecessor to the Copa del Rey.
But up to this point, the Royal football team has been going through a glorious historical journey, winning many titles, including recognition of the position of the best team of the 20th century.
In the early morning of March 7 (Vietnam time), Real Madrid celebrated its birthday with a ticket to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League 2023-2024 after a 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig (final win 2-1). But it was not a really good match for coach Carlo Ancelotti and his team.
