De Gea released a heartfelt message after United let his contract expire and before signing Andre Onana as their new starting goalkeeper.
The 8th of July has come and gone, and De Gea still doesn’t have a team. The former Atletico Madrid player does, however, still have some viable possibilities.
When news of Thibaut Courtois’s ACL tear broke, MARCA reports that Real Madrid began exploring the possibilities of signing De Gea.
Instead, they’ll borrow Chelsea goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga. Bayern Munich, who just lost Yann Sommer to Inter Milan, is also interested in the 32-year-old goalkeeper because regular starter Manuel Neuer is out with a fractured leg sustained while skiing in December.
But Al Nassr are determined to make De Gea their starting goalkeeper for the upcoming season.
De Gea has until September 20th to sign with Nassr, the last day the transfer window is open for Saudi clubs.
If he decided to leave United for the Middle East, he might reunite with Ronaldo and Alex Telles.
Sadio Mane and Marcelo Brozovic have joined Luis Castro’s squad as they aim to defend their Scottish Premier League championship.
They lost the league title to Al Ittihad last season, but Ronaldo scored twice in a 2-1 victory over Al Hilal on Saturday to win the Arab Club Champions Cup.
