The video recorded an Indian man bitten on the lip by a cobra while trying to kiss the head of this extremely venomous snake.
The man was bitten by a cobra when he suddenly “cuddled” the snake
According to eyewitnesses, it was unbelievable that this man, who is said to be a snake catcher, wanted to “show” by a photo of him kissing the head of a cobra, a snake known for its extremely venomous venom.
However, the snake suddenly turned its neck back and responded with lightning speed, biting the man’s mouth. The snake’s sudden counterattack sent the man holding his face back, while the people around shouted in panic.
Another man shoved the snake away before it slithered into the grass to hide. The victim was then taken to the emergency room and fortunately survived. The incident happened in the Shivamogga district in southern India.
According to the Daily Mail , the cobra is one of the four most deadly venomous snakes in India. Their venom can even kill an elephant. This venomous snake also lives in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan.
If not treated promptly, the cobra’s venom can damage the nervous system, paralyze muscles and, in more severe cases, can lead to respiratory failure or cardiac arrest.
In Hindu culture and worship, the cobra is a revered animal. Some snake charmers even perform with the cobra through “hypnosis” with a flute called a “pungi”.
