Said to be his most exotic set of digs, Ronaldo launched the Pestana CR7 Lifestyle hotel in the famous Moroccan city earlier this year to make a mark in the African property world.
The Sun said the Pestana CR7 hotel in Marrakech, Morocco, opened and started welcoming guests from 2022. Pestana CR7 in Morocco started construction in 2019 and is expected to open in early 2021. However, the plan to welcome guests had to be delayed a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Pestana CR7 in Marrakech is C. Ronaldo’s first hotel opened in Africa.
And like his skills on the football pitch have seen him win countless awards down the years, the hotel has already been put up for a grand prize. The 37-year-old’s new retreat has been nominated for Africa’s Leading New Hotel 2022 at the World Travel Awards.
Ronaldo says he is ‘passionate about’ Marrakech
No wonder, too, as the luxury facility boasts a whopping 174 rooms. Any lucky residents can also enjoy the hotel’s sparkling spa, suave business centre, state of the art gym and rooftop pool which offers stunning panoramic views of the famous Atlas Mountains. But a room at the inn doesn’t come cheap, with costs starting from from £158 per night and rising all the way to £372.

When it comes to fine dining, guests can enjoy a taste of Ronaldo’s healthy diet and clean appetite while in Marrakech.
The hotel has a spa
Upon opening his fifth hotel to take his hotel empire to a third continent, the Portuguese legend explained: “When I opened the first hotel with the Pestana Group in 2016, our ambition was to create an international brand.

“Since that first milestone in Madeira, our home, followed by the Lisbon hotel, we have already expanded to Madrid and New York. Opening this hotel in Marrakech takes us to the fifth city. But more than just a number, it represents my connection to a country that I am passionate about, and where I am always made to feel most welcome.”
The Portuguese legend owns four other luxury hotels
Dionisio Pestana, the president of Pestana Group, went on to say: “The partnership between the Pestana Hotel Group and Cristiano Ronaldo enters a new chapter, with the first hotel in Africa. A continent where the group began its internationalisation more than 20 years ago. And where there is a true and unconditional passion for football, where Cristiano is an expert.”

A hotel spokesman added: “A dream turned reality. More than just a hotel, it is an unforgettable experience in the exotic atmosphere of one of Africa’s most emblematic cities.”
Ronaldo’s hotel is up for an award
Ronaldo may be using one of his hotels soon, too, as he continues to search for a way out of Manchester and new destination. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is desperate to play Champions League football and maintain his record of being the competition’s all-time leading goalscorer.
